Phone number Comment Option 3456008891 It is definitely a phishing attempt. I got a landline message as did a colleague. The usual URGENT etc.but I knew that HSBC would not have my work number. Rang First Direct (owned by HSBC). After 5 minutes of checking, they confirmed; 1) They had not called me or left a message with me or with my colleague. 2) They confirmed that 03456 008891 is a scam emanating from India. BEWARE 3456008891 HSBC - fraud team. Called and I said I was dubious - they assured me they were not asking for pin/passwords and asked if I had made 2 recent specific transactions on my card (wouldn't have known that information if not HSBC) I confirmed so card was ok to continue use. 3456008891 Called HSBC and they declared it as FRAUD! Some scammers appear to be trying to put this number online as being ok, but it is DEF a SCAM! Call your bank on their MobileBanking number, and never on "texted" numbers. 3456008891 HSBC fraud checking center 3456008891 Sounded dodgy, so rung the number on the back of the HSBC card and they put me through to the fraud team. Definitely sounded dodgy at the start, heavy indian accent that I struggled to understand. Gave me enough information for me to be happy to pass over basic information about my account, as I had a payment decline, but then came on here to check number afterwards and started to doubt myself. Called the number on the back of the card and confirmed it was a genuine call. Didn't recognise number and wasn't on HSBC website, so phoned their advertised Telebanking number. They confirmed that their Fraud Team had NOT called me today, and that there were no flags against my accounts. Received a text message seconds later from HSBC with a unique reference number for me to quote on the call back. Rang through to HSBC's corporate banking number on the back of my card and they transferred me to their fraud team who recognised the original number and reference number from the text - so safe. I was suspicious so called the number on the back of my credit card instead of the messaged number. HSBC Premier. Called HSBC on regular number and they confirmed no fraud and nobody from them had tried to contact me. Beware those saying it is genuine, they are either suckers or posting to make the scam more legitimate. 3456008891 A man with an Indian accent said he was calling from HSBC fraud protection, knew my full name and my husband's and I gave him no further information but said I would call HSBC directly. The call came up as a HSBC number, but the accent was so strong that my wife could not understand the person and assumed it was a fraud call. I rang the number back and was immediately asked for the long number on my card and so also assumed it was a fraud call. I then contacted HSBC direct and was told that here was a problem on the account and the call was genuine. Thought it might be a scam so I contacted HSBC from the number on the back of my Business Commercial Card and they put me through to their Fraud Department who knew all about the contact request without me having to provide the reference number. They told me all the transactions I had made on my card and all I had to do was confirm them. My card was unblocked straight away. I called HSBC who did not have any record of anyone trying to call me. 3456008891 Contacted via my work mobile, foreign sounding lady asked for me by name. I asked in what connection, she said she was from HSBC. I don't have an HSBC account of any description and if i did the contact number would be my personal number not my work number.
