Although pretending to be a uk number, was flagged as international by my caller id. Recorded message about £600 supposedly being charged to my visa card. "If you didn't done this, press 1". Bound to be genuine then!
This was almost definitely a scam of some kind. The caller spoke with accented English in a location with a huge amount of background chatter. He claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse offering very low prices on iPhone, Samsung and Huawei mobile phones. I do not think it was actually Carphone warehouse, as I have never provided my details to them and I would expect they had a call centre environment that sounded a bit less like the outside of a busy London pub on a sunny evening.
Had a call from this number but didn t answer it. I came here instead to check who they were.
Now I know they are scammers, so i shall wait for them to call back again (as they surely will) and then I can have some fun with them and give them the runaround with some silly stories.
