It was a fake recorded call from Amazon pretending to help me cancel a non-existent subscription to Amazon Prime. I have read about this and they put you through to a premium rate number or try to get your bank details.
Indian sounding male with very broken English. After the fourth time of asking I finally managed to decipher that he said he was calling from BT Openreach. When I said 'OK I understand now' there was a long pause as if he didn't know what to say next. I could hear someone in the background also saying 'This is BT Openreach'. When I asked him what he was calling about he just kept repeating 'This is BT Openreach'. I asked him if he had lost his script......and he rang off.
I don t answer unknown calls, looked at this website, having recently signed on to all these c.v job sites it seems logical that what many are suggesting on here to be true and they are taking numbers from c.v s. Why are these people pestering job seekers most of us are idiots with no money anyway, thankless task lol
I get 3 - 4 calls a day, each time i ask to be removed from their database. they hang up. I am on TPS - telephone preference service and have made a complaint. I will suggest everyone goes down this route. Any other suggestions appreciated.
A man who spoke English as an additional language called saying his records show that I have a pension which could be affected by recent legislation but then was asking me where my pension was from and if private or work based etc. I kept saying I can t talk now as I d been up all night with D & V, he aggressively said this is for your own benefit, I m not selling anything and kept asking questions so I put the phone down. Very unprofessional.
SCAM / SPAM
HMRC calling for a fraud under my name. A recorded voice says ''you HAVE to press 1'' to speak with an operator.
I didn't press 1 but I assume it's scam because it's not the first time I received a call like this.
