Sent me a text message saying:
LLOYDS ALERT: You have successfully paired a new device on 11/02 at 19.31PM. If this was NOT you, visit: [fairly convincing web-address]
I believe this is a scam as I don't bank with Lloyds
For goodness sake, Microsoft, do your users a favour and start warning them about computer scammers through Windows Update. Until you do, users will assume that you could not give a damn about this widely reported scam by conmen pretending to work for your company.
They called asked for me by name. Then asked how many pensions I have and do I have a work pension. .. They said I needed to complete a pack and they would send it out.
No pack had arrived but everyday between 1400 and 1430 they call again.
I have blocked this number as Shortly after confirming my address someone unsuccessfully attempted to gain access to my Google account.
Fraud. Claims to be HMRC London, but is a Bolton number. They will ask for your name and details but DO NOT give them out. If you ask them, they will give you a genuine number so that you are confident, but that is not who they are. Similar to the Windows scam, they will give you the registered address of Microsoft in Reading and a genuine name of someone who works there, but that doesn't stop it being a scam. If they called you, they should know your details!
This number rings only. Through an Internet search, I know that it is "FEA". What make and why the call, but I do not know. For me, they call every day at six times. The calls always come in two packs at a distance of about ten minutes.
