Just hung up as I answered. You can t call the number back so clearly a call centre of some sort.

unhelpful, rude, annoying, unsolicited calls to number(s) already registered with TPS (I ve escalated a formal complaint via TPS). The companies don’t "get" your number, they just block-dial numbers until they get a ring tone so TPS and ex-directory numbers do not offer any protection.

These are both premium-rate, non-geographic numbers, and if they have called you, probably spoofed anyway - they tend to be used for TV/radio phone-in competitions.

I had a few missed calls from this number and Googled it as I didn t recognise it. I found lots of comments saying it was a fundraising company asking for more money for the RSPCA which I give directly to. I used the number which a couple of people provided to have my number taken off the list which is an automated service. It takes seconds, asks you to key in your number, confirms it and then says your number will be removed within 1 day. You don t have to speak to anyone at all - cold callers or customer

Man with Indian accent. Said his name was Jerry. Called me Mrs [first initial of my oh s first name + his surname] which anyone can look up in the phonebook. Asked me if I was this person. I didn t tell him. Said he was from the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). I just pressed the red button.
