They called me today claiming to have got my number from LinkedIn. My LinkedIn profile does not have a phone number, in fact LinkedIn keep asking me to add one. They mumbled something about indirect tax and I hung up.

I asked who they represent and she said they work with a number of companies. I asked what her organisation was and she told me she'd get a manager to ring back in the next half hour. Caller claimed to be from BT openreach calling about internet issues. They asked me to run a speed test and when I said I had 69 download and 18 upload they said that the difference was an issue. When I pointed out that it was always like that, and wasn't supposed to be the same they hung up. Obviously a scam.
