Suddenly started getting calls from this number, sometimes twice a day. They sent me a text message saying from Mackenzie Hall and asking me to text back quoting an account number which they gave me. I ve never answered calls or text, never had a debt other than a mortgage (now paid off) and had new mobile number within last 3 months so how have they got my number and why are they bothering me!

SCAM - purportedly from HMRC re Tax Fraud, HMRC confirm “ HMRC is aware of an automated phone call scam which will tell you HMRC is filing a lawsuit against you, and to press 1 to speak to a caseworker to make a payment. We can confirm this is a scam and you should end the call immediately. This scam has been widely reported and often targets elderly and vulnerable people.”

I ve done some research on this number and found out that it is a call centre called RSVP, based in East London. Not only do they offer wine club memberships and MCN motorcycle subscriptions, but also services from Hillary Blinds. Called me about 5 times before I picked up. Wine club offer in my case. This is the 2nd call i got in as many days. Its a young girls voice telling me they have been informed i was in a traffic accident. The penny dropped on the 2nd call that it s a very clever RECORDING of a girl!!! This is a first for me and I am 100% sure it wasn t a real person but it does sound convincing.
