This number has been "Spoofed" as there is no business in Neath where this number is based which is a lawyers etc. The number is being used by an overseas call centre to generate leads. DO NOT ANSWER OR DISCUSS AS THIS WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE!!!! You will get further calls as they pass your number on as a "live" number.

The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. Threatening call, demanding money, claiming to be from HMRC
Claimed to be from Carfone Warehouse, poor English spoken and when challenged as to why they were asking what mobile phone I had, they said, "Oh God ..." and hung up. Just to clarify, I am not God.
General opinion seems to be that it is Tesco. I don`t shop with them and have none of their other products/services, so not sure why they phoned

SCAM: HMRC Fraud Office threatening you with court action and asking you to call back. When challenged the caller became extremely abusive (swearing etc.) before hanging up.
Fraud Told me I MUST press 1 to follow up on the tax fraud in my name. Sadly, I know HMRC don't use mobile phones and they also don't call themselves Her Majesties Tax and Inland Revenue Service.

This is a scam - they claim to be HMRC (although he pronounced it HRMC!) and are asking for student tax to be paid. I told them that I am 16 and not working and therefore not eligible for tax. He - an Indian sub continent accented person - insisted I have to pay it until I informed him that I actually work for HMRC and this is a scam. He admitted it was and rang off. NOTE: I don't work for HMRC and I am not 16. BEWARE!!!!

Called twice today, 2nd time answered: asked for my partner by name & claimed to be from People's Energy who are our energy supplier and are based in Edinburgh so that matches the area code (0131). My partner wasn't happy to confirm security information for an unsolicited call though and they were happy to end the call requesting we call them. Had a few calls from this number over the past month. Decided to answer today and a foreign sounding female asked me if I d worked in a noisy factory as they could help me claim compensation for hearing loss! Said no I hadn t and she put the phone down on me. Nuisance call.
