Scam claiming to be from Amazon
Suddenly started getting calls from this number, sometimes twice a day. They sent me a text message saying from Mackenzie Hall and asking me to text back quoting an account number which they gave me. I ve never answered calls or text, never had a debt other than a mortgage (now paid off) and had new mobile number within last 3 months so how have they got my number and why are they bothering me!

haha, I got The Hearing Centre. It is so funny that you got the Listening Centre. More of the same, but different I guess. The call was too crackly to make anything else out of it. Sorry, to me it didn t sound local, so I hung up pretty quickly.
This number is used by an Oven-Cleaning service - I tried to use them a couple of years ago but they would never come when I wanted them to. After getting my money back from the bank I told them that I did not want their services any more. Since then I have received literally hundreds of calls, all saying that they would like to confirm a time and date for their visit - I have asked them to stop but they are relentless. I have also blocked various numbers, at least 20 but they still call.

I got a phone call from this number, as I did the 1471 to hear the number back. The man said his name was John and wanted to speak to my brother. He new his name and said he owed money and they wished to speak to him. My mother answered the call but wouldn t give up any details, but she kept asking them questions about who they were and why they were ringing. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION AWAY!! DO NOT ANSWER THEIR QUESTIONS!

Alleged to be from Amazon and they were deducting £79 from my account. I checked with Amazon it is a scam.
SCAM Seems to be a call center as noisy line. Tried to obtain bank details etc under false pretences, alleging an engineer from BT has detected problems on my home landline and that without rectification I could incur £+ costs but if remedial action is taken quickly charges may be reduced. I asked for their engineer and departmental details but got nowhere so advised would call BT myself and the caller rang off. One for OfCom and other authorities. I received a call from this number with an automated message saying that this was regarding some important information about my account. They didn t even specify what kind of account nor did they ever identify the company they were calling from. Seems to me like they want to get people to react out of panic because of the word "account". I didn t return any calls or anything, so they kept pestering me and now they are blocked.
