SCAM Indian man, claims to be Virgin Media and wants to increase my internet speed. The number they called is a business line that is not linked to any internet account. 3rd call like this today. My number has obviously made it onto a list somewhere.

Indian scammers posing as BT tech support. Ask them for your address. If they really were from BT they would know it They will say your computer showed up on their server as being hacked. If that was really the case then why don't they have your address? Ask them for your IP address as the only way your "computer" could show up on a BT server is with an IP address (except BT don't monitor for this sort of thing and wouldn't phone you up about it). Caller said she was from VirginMedia and claimed that someone had hacked my Internet. Wanted to show me on my PC. When I said her story was a scam and rubbish, she said my PC was causing hacking attacks, and my Internet line will be blocked.

Says he s from an insurance company & is ringing regarding a minor collision in the past 3 years. I asked him to tell me about the collision to which he replied that it could be another member of my family or the household as sometimes they re given the wrong name ! When I challenged him by saying so you have no idea whether I ve had any collisions and are just cold selling, he eerrrm d & aahhh d & hung up
This number is for confirmation of attending a hospital appointment at either North Tees or James Cook hospitals in Teesside.
Recorded message saying they were returning my call request and to press 1 if I was available to take the call. I hung up as I ve made no such request because I don t have any dealings with them.
