Number called both mobile & home phone claiming to be from BofS, used my name & asked for date of birth which wasn t given. When asked nature of call was told "bank account query" but refused to elaborate but said I could contact branch to verify. Contacted BofS customer service from a third phone and was informed it was a scam

Ive had this one a couple of times, telemarketer, I think weatherseal, didnt answer it-I think these call centres can dial for multiple companies, not just one. the telephone preference service (TPS) doesnt prevent all calls. From the TPS website: As TPS registration only prevents marketing calls, organisations will still be able to call you for the purposes of genuine market research. :(
