SCAM Fraud Claiming to be Amazon.....I was on my amazon account when they rang. These guys send you a code so you click on it and they will have remote access to your mobile phone and gain all the information including your banking. Just delete the messages they send you if you have a conversion with them. Once I told them I knew they were scammers they hung up and went on their way.

Geordie-Man asked who looks after the electric meter? I asked who he called, i.e name company etc.. and he hung up? Maybe I didn't sound like his target audience... I think some kind of Scamma!

Received a text from this number, claiming to be from Evri (the new name for Hermes), saying they'd missed a delivery, and wanted £1.45 for redelivery. I googled Evri and and according to them it's a scam, to get your bank details and Mt your account.

Called for days without speaking until today pretending to be from &quot;Merchant Review&quot;. Asking to speak to &quot;whoever is in charge of the merchant account&quot; when told we don't have a credit card machine they hanged up. Very fishy.

Tried to convince me of life insurance. The fact the number comes up as potential spam on the modern phone should be encouragement enough to upgrade just for this fact. Block it.

Telemarketing

Answered a call from this number, where the caller, Chris (with a thick Indian accent), claimed to be from O2 and wanted to know how my day was. Since I'm not an O2 customer, I hung up and blocked the number.

SCAM Presented themselves as an online competition for a DELL laptop through The Warehouse New Zealand. They asked for an entry fee to get our bank card number, took the entry fee then 3 days later took more money. On answering the call the caller said my electricity account was due to expire. It is not, in fact it has another 12 months to run from February 2023. The caller spoke with an accent. Due to this the call was ended.

Called using my name and asked about a website domain apparently registered to me, without giving any details of who they were. Ended the call immediately.

Fraud American accent, pre-recorded message saying it was HMRC and there was a problem with my tax record. Told me that in order to avoid jail I needed to sort this out immediately and had to press 1 to be put through to an advisor. Potentially very threatening for anyone who didn’t recognise it as a scam. Google search reveals that if I had pressed 1 my call might have been rerouted to a different country and I could have faced hefty phone charges.
