Not sure if it is a scam, but concerned they knew my name, and what domestic appliances I have. We recently cancelled insurance with Domestic and General, so wondering if they have sold on our details. Told them I don't need their insurance as would by new if beyond economic repair, and the caller seemed surprised that I could fix a recent washing machine problem myself. It's not difficult to change the brushes on the motor or to unblock the filter
My number on contract with o2 taken over by fraudster. O2 cancelled the number but it has been used in attempts to access my credit cards. Also possibly being used as a debit card app. number. Police and Action Fraud are aware.

The number 0800 862 0818 is genuine, but everyone should always consider if a number is spoofed - try to get them to tell you something about you that they know already. Eg if they ask for your email, tell them a fake one and see if they know it's fake. If they don't, they may not be genuine.

Automated call Called by this number saying that this is a warning that some money will be taken from my account today. I have never heard of a bank that calls a person without the person calling forst so it is obviously a scam. Not sure how they scam, but I have blocked this caller now and it will be blocked forever. SCAM Caller 'Siobhan' on 03332420495 stating from Taylor Stirling Legal. This company is dissolved. The call was a scam attempt to extract personal data. Rang off as soon as the realised they were rumbled and I was running reverse tracing on them. South African IP and call number spoofing. Beware, very clever question structure to get you to reveal sensitive data.

A SCAM - be very careful as the person on the phone will try to get you to download a programme called "anydesk.com" which gives remote access to your computer. In my case the person said he was from SKY and was checking on my report on bad internet signal (that part was true). He took me through a few dialogue boxes (thankfully I knew that I was not changing settings). He then tried to get me to download the programme. Thankfully I questioned it. He hung up. The number he called from was 02036
