Claimed to be from BT. I have no dealings with BT and as I was not addressed by name, can only presume this a scam and therefore a dangerous call.

Received a text asking if I fancy winning a MacBook Air? With a link to follow stating There we’re 10 up for grabs! What I don’t understand is how they even know my name. I tried dialling the number and it is not recognised. SCAM!!!!

SCAM Some foreign (Indian as usual) scammer phoned and asked Mr (me by name) I answered yes and they said they were (English name, obviously made up and theirs for the day) and from Life Insurance. Then asked how I was doing and when I replied they just hung up. HOW RUDE! Pity really, as I pride myself on keeping them on the line as long as I can.

THIS WILL GIVE THEM ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT AND NEW SIM WILL GIVE THEM ACCESS TO ALL INFO ON YOUR PHONE AND ALL INFO SENT AND RECEIVED. HANG UP! THEY WILL TRY THEIR BEST TO PERSUADE YOU. SPAM - eventually answered as a call centre for the "housing maintenance team" asking how I was. Hung up, blocked and reported. This is a newish number as well so either autodialing or selling numbers again.
