Somebody called me claiming to be from Vale of White Horse Council asking about electoral roll, knew my name and was I at xxxxxxxx, xxxxx quoting my address. Told them I wouldn t verify anything and to send me a letter. Vale of White Horse is in Oxfordshire but they were calling from Birmingham, when i said why are you calling me from Birmingham, he said something like. Missed Call - Called Back - And the same PPI S**t. The lady started off asking personal details, which I didn t reveal and asked what it is about. She doesnt want to listen when I said I am not interested and she can take off my name from her database. Am now receiving atleast 1-2 calls a day and 3-4 sms messages from various people/companies and I think it has crossed the limits to be tagged as harassment. Am not sure what OFCOM is doing about it.
Caller fraudulently advised he was from my bank, wanting my security details, which I declined to give. He advised he was cancelling my debit card, and could not send me a new one without those details, and that a fraudulent purchase had been made with my card. Hung up, and phoned my bank, who advised it was an attempt to steal my card details. Beware, never give out details unless you have made the call to a verified number.Fraud
