The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. This is a scam - they claim to be HMRC (although he pronounced it HRMC!) and are asking for student tax to be paid. I told them that I am 16 and not working and therefore not eligible for tax. He - an Indian sub continent accented person - insisted I have to pay it until I informed him that I actually work for HMRC and this is a scam. He admitted it was and rang off. NOTE: I don't work for HMRC and I am not 16. BEWARE!!!!

SCAM I answered as it was a landline (Cambridge location) Automated voice message apparently from HMRC warning of possible tax investigation - then to press 1 to transfer. I hung up at that point so did not hear the other options.

Called to say from MBNA and that there was a problem with the account. Indian (asian) voice. Wife was very rude to him. Scam. They pretend they are from EIST research centre that belong to the university of Liverpool. They asked for home address, phone numbers, emails and bank details. I gave them all wrong information. I phoned the university of Liverpool and they confirmed the number listed above is not their phone numbers.

A man with a foreign sounding voice but very english name called.Told me he was from microsoft.Have had these calls from another number (01225766466) but the difference being that this one had our name.He could not pronounce it but was able to spell it when i asked, strange because it is simple name and only 5 letters.When i asked how he got the name he hung up.I believe its the same people as the other number.I had such a shouting match with them on the phone last week,i think they have changed tactics !
