I've been receiving lots of calls to my business mobile starting 0843. All of them without exception disconnect after around 3 rings. No doubt to get you to call back - so I suspect this is a scam, even though I'm the first to comment on this number here.
SCAM Eastern European Accent - Matthew Rogers from the International Fob Watch. Asked how I was, I said fine. I said what's this about, sounds interesting. The caller went silent, i could hear them and then they hung up. Suspect this is possibly an investment scam...at a guess. Certainly getting the block treatment.

I was called by this number at 08:18 this morning by someone claiming to be "Amazon Prime" (recorded message) and invited to be transferred to cancel a subscription ('press 1'). Sadly this IS British gas I phoned them and they admitted that yes they do make presumptive appointments for smart meter installs with the onus on the customer to cancel them The appointment was also on my British Gas online account There is currently NO obligation to have smart meters installed Sadly you cant cancel the appointment online you have to phone them Ive not cancelled yet but put my details in an online complaint and instructed them to cancel it If need be Ill make the call before the appointmen
