Owen called from 0113 823 1763 claiming to be from Nationwide Fire Safety and said we had a quote for fire extinguishers from them last year - but had a 8year+ old address and we had never spoken to them before. Scam.

01482 293843 called me several times. I called back and got an automated message saying welcome to Vodafone all of our operators are busy right now please hold blah blah blah... I hung up. My broadband contract has just ended with Vodafone and I already renewed it with them on a social tariff. Maybe the call was connected to that. I saved the number to contacts so the name will come up if they call again and I'll answer it to find out. Like many I don't answer withheld numbers or numbers I don't recognise.

If I call you it is because your number is registered on our system under a patient's contact details and you may be awaiting an appointment or procedure. I was unable to answer the call from this number because my screen was playing up. It did not light up in any way so I couldn't see how to answer or anything. A few minutes later I needed to make a call so I spent some time getting the screen to light up in order to dial out. Surprisingly this number was still calling me. I still didn't answer but waited for it tobgive up, which it eventually did. It must have been calling me for over 5 minutes, which is pretty crazy. Seems probable based on the previous

Banking scam. Fake recorded message saying unusual transactions have occured on your account and to press 1 or 2 to speak to an adviser. A bit of a stupid scam, because you simply check your banking app on the spot and see there's no pending transactions!
Missed call - Missed the call. Rang back out of curiosity and got the message "This number has been suspended through suspected misuse or fraud. If affected call..." and gave the Fraud Line Interestingly, I look at my Blocked Numbers log and I have in the past blocked 0161 636 3721 - 3726, so it must be an allocation bought up by someone dodgy who just flips the outgoing number when it gets burned.

Probable scam. Asked me for "Final Payment" on a "contract" (non-existent) for maintaining domestic appliances, saying it was due today, and that a paper receipt would be sent to my hone address, which the caller asked me to verify. When I said the address was correct, I also said he should have sent an invoice earlier, but he then immediately hung up.
