SCAM called offering for my business to be featured in a publication which will highlighting legitimate local businesses and rogue traders (hopefully I fall into the former). Asked if I'd like to be featured as their "(my profession) of the year" for a fee, when I questioned it they hung up. Initially claimed to be from a crime monitoring unit, which was odd since they called from a mobile number.
this seems to be a number that rings and then just cuts off......bizzarre.....

I used him to check if my info actually was leaked and then I rejected the transaction and cancelled my card lol. Pretty funny call, although dangerous to those who aren’t very IT literate. They said they were local authority and asked if I needed any repairs, any dampness etc. I asked who had contacted them and this did not make sense. I put the phone down on them. She gave me no information whatsoever and the background was silent.

This number called me this morning 10.02 am. What appeared to be recorded message told me that they were speaking from Visa and my card had been used to place an £800 bet in the USA, if this wasn't me press a button on the phone. I hung-up without responding and have confirmed this was not true, another scam.
