Automated call, phone today, Saturday asking for ***** press 1 if this is you, which it wasn t, but still went on with ref number and when to call their office, then gave a totally different number to the one shown on my caller id. Me thinks it is either ppi or debt collector? Looking at the comments, it looks like debt collector. The government should look to ban these scumbuckets! SCAM: HMRC Fraud Office threatening you with court action and asking you to call back. When challenged the caller became extremely abusive (swearing etc.) before hanging up.

Called stating they were "Direct Legal" with regard to a recent car accident. I told him I had no interest in claiming anything and he hung up immediately. Number blocked.
Received three calls in a row from this number, from two women and one man. All claimed to be calling from Liebermann in the Netherlands. Ask to speak to me using only my first name. They wanted to arrange a free call back to discuss me doing online trading. When I asked how they obtained my name and number all three of them hung up.

This is a scam - they claim to be HMRC (although he pronounced it HRMC!) and are asking for student tax to be paid. I told them that I am 16 and not working and therefore not eligible for tax. He - an Indian sub continent accented person - insisted I have to pay it until I informed him that I actually work for HMRC and this is a scam. He admitted it was and rang off. NOTE: I don't work for HMRC and I am not 16. BEWARE!!!!
