I think the number shown on my mobile may be a spoof number to prompt me to reply and be diverted to the premium rate real number. This is the second time in 2 days I have reported a problem. I've had a call from this number telling me it was BT calling about my broadband, I hung up on them & will report it.
Fraud Told me I MUST press 1 to follow up on the tax fraud in my name. Sadly, I know HMRC don't use mobile phones and they also don't call themselves Her Majesties Tax and Inland Revenue Service.

This number called me at 16h33 on Tuesday 11th April 2023. Man with heavy Indian accent claimed to be from Microsoft. Said I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service so he shouldn't call me. Hung up, but he rang again and asked why I'd hung up. I said I'd already explained why, and hung up. He phoned a third time, and in a stroppy tone asked why I'd hung up. So I hung up AGAIN. For a fourth time, he phoned again. Didn't answer, and blocked his number. Obvious nuisance.
