I had a call from this number yesterday the caller said he was from British Gas to arrange a service I wasnt convinced that he was genuine and I asked him how I could be sure that he was from British Gas he immediately hung up Although this is a genuine BG number scammers can mimic numbers to make it look like the call is legitimate I will log into my British Gas account when I want to book my HomeCare service

SCAM Roger" Claimed that a European Court Order was against our name. Said it was for a 'holiday let. Told him we finished it some years ago. He wanted to know how we got out, told him none of his business. He claimed that he was from a company investigating the validity of the claims. Insisted he wasn't toting for business. Definitely a scam, someone called using a VOIP program, could hear the tell-tale audio noise as well as the delayed relayed connection. Claimed to be from O2 offering a 50% discount on my monthly call plan, let him get so far into his spiel until he said he was going to send me two codes. Red flag behaviour; never give anyone your text-acquired code, it is to hijack your online account.

Scam pretending to be HMRC threatening arrest for not paying tax. If in doubt check HMRC's website and they state; "HMRC will never: •leave a voicemail threatening legal action •call threatening arrest" If this happens report it, it is a malicious and stress inducing scam
