SCAM - somebody called to ask to speak to my husband regarding his business account with British Gas. When I asked them to contact my husband's business directly they stated that the only number they had (which is our home number). They gave me a reference number and asked if my husband could call them. It all sounded very plausible - please be aware.

Suspected Spam warning on my (smart call function) number recognition. I do not know anyone from Northern Irland; neither I was expecting any call at the moment. I accepted but kept my silence, and silence was maintained on the other side as well. It seems to be an autonomous call dial (voice recognition) to check if anyone answers and consequently confirm that numbers are actively being used by potential victims. There were no further attempts to call my number nor any voice or text messages afterwards.

I was told that the call was from y local energy consultancy and I was asked if in the past I had used the Government scheme for installing fibreglass in my loft. I said I hadn't used the Government scheme and I did have loft insulation that was installed and then boarded over. Number 01322 936144 is a Telemarketing Scam! If ever you don't recognise the number, DON'T SPEAK and JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear anyone, and after a short pause the line goes dead, then congratulations you've just successfully escaped being scammed! This is because it was a computer calling trying to establish if your number was a voiceline. If you'd spoken your number would be logged as a voiceline and some clever con artist would be phoning you later, so now you know. If ever in doubt always hang up!
