I didn't recognise the number so I hung up and found more out here. I'll block the number now I know it's dodgy.

PPI harassment calls don t answer

received the same message as the other people posting here, asking to call 0844 571 5190 and quote exactly the same reference number: 778660. Since we all know that this is a big scam designed to rip off unsuspecting people, I fail to see why the police cant shut these people down - or better still why they cant administer a ?500.00 fine to the number, which they would have to pay to their service provider.

This number keeps sending me messages, also 07792051777. The messages read "Meet local single women tonight. No strings, just lots of fun. Call or txt 07792051777 now! By: CT EC1N 8TE London CS: 02076177015 18+ reply STOP to stop Freemsg" I have replied STOP but the messages keep coming.

Part of the ongoing automated call scams. When answering the call, there is a split second blimp where the automated answer kicks in. Not even a human on the other end. Someone needs to trace the number to the property which rang it and cut their lines.

Rang and after one ring it stopped. I suspect this number is being used to ring numbers to identify if they are in use. Every number that it successfully rings at least once is then added to a list to sell to scum bags for dodgy telemarketing purposes. Utter scum. Block it if you can.

These calls are not from Manchester. The numbers are spoofed by the scammers. NEVER call these numbers back or you may get caught for a huge phone charge.
