Number pretends to be HMRC calling about tax fraud registered against my name. Automated call, threatens you with imminent arrest if you hang up or don't press 1. Once you press one, a very deep Asian sounding accent answers and asks you for your details. Which they should have since they claim to have opened a case against you. On pressing them, they do not divulge their name or location. Again they ask you to tell them your name and address or be arrested. I admit I lost my temper and a few expletives fle

SCAM Seems to be a call center as noisy line. Tried to obtain bank details etc under false pretences, alleging an engineer from BT has detected problems on my home landline and that without rectification I could incur £+ costs but if remedial action is taken quickly charges may be reduced. I asked for their engineer and departmental details but got nowhere so advised would call BT myself and the caller rang off. One for OfCom and other authorities. AO - checking through details of order, although seemed like just a cover for the fact they wanted to sell an extended warranty. When declined, aske why, but did then accept reasoning e.g. over time they really are not cost effective.
