The number is spoofed by the scammers and the call is not from within the UK.

Scammers pretending to be EE, SOME CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER ARE REAL, others are just number spoofing to pretend to be EE

I received a call from a chap who called himself Brady, from the Nuisance Calls Prevention Service in Brighton at 6.05pm on 26th February 2015. He told me that he was aware that I was receiving a high ratio of nuisance calls and that he was going to stop them for me... all good up to this point! He then went on to say that for ?2 per month the calls would be stopped!!!! Definitely a scammer, but what worries me is that he knew my name and ex-directory telephone number.

Have previously had about three missed calls from this number - just picked up the latest call and they informed me that I d had a car accident at some point since July 2010 - I have never had a car accident, thank goodness. I asked them where they got this information from - they said they purchased these details from a company and had got them as I had registered the accident but hadn t claimed anything. Someone calling themselves Ashley Greenwood (man) wanting to make an appointment. It s a con - don t fall for it.

I'm getting a call from this number at the same time every day. It's a recording about the National Data Base. I suspect it's a pre programmed computer.

This number has called me at least once a day and never leaves a message. I know I could always just call it back to find out who it is but I really don t want too contact a number I do not know? Pains in the backside.

Woman phoned asking if I was Miss (my girlfriend s name) I m not the butchest of guys but I don t sound like a woman.... Very heavily accented Indian accent, also appalling sound quality with lots of noise in the background. When I asked who it was from, she mumbled something about PPI at which point I put the phone down.
