Scam. Claiming to be from Microsoft about hackers accessing computer and installing dangerous software on it. Have your name and address (easily available from phone book) to add 'authenticity'. Had fun winding them up as obviously a scam. They just want access to your computer so don't engage with them.

If you speak then the line is detected as 'an active voice line' and logged as such, a scammer will then be calling you later! If you don't recognize the number calling DON'T SPEAK, JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear a voice and then the line goes dead then congratulations - you have just successfully escaped being scammed! THESE CALLS ARE HARASSING AND ALWAYS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!
Have previously had about three missed calls from this number - just picked up the latest call and they informed me that I d had a car accident at some point since July 2010 - I have never had a car accident, thank goodness. I asked them where they got this information from - they said they purchased these details from a company and had got them as I had registered the accident but hadn t claimed anything. SCAM / SPAM Indian call centre trying to install rogue software due to BTOpennet fault.
Called by an Asian gent who eventually answered me (suspicious already) said he was a technician calling from some company or other (couldn t resolve company name) and said I had something wrong with my computer updates. What! I told him I was an IT Consultant (truth) and he started telling me what to do. Several times I told him he was a scammer but he completely ignored me. I don't know who this is but it's coming from North Yorkshire and I don't know anybody from there so I have now blocked the number.
This number rings, when i answer no one there then they hang up! when i ring it back it rings then goes to answer machine! Probably a scam! Beware!

She asked how she could help me to which I replied, "I don't know, you called me!" Then she hung up on me.

Missed calls/nuisance calls from this number. Rang at 1.00a.m. on 19.07.21 (one ring only) which disturbed and concerned me in the middle of the night. Rang twice tonight, first time it was a missed call, the caller didn't even allow the phone to ring the second time, less than one second.
