Potentially a SCAM. Silent call.
Pretended they were TSB, and that someone tried to take out 250 to pay Apple, they put the transaction on hold and now need to generate me a new card, new sort code and new account number. Called him out on it by saying will visit branch to sort out as never heard of anyone changing a sort code before...I am guessing he would have asked me to verify all those details in order to change them. Scam, scam, scam as soon as I said that he hung up.
Called two or three times a day refuse to pass me to a supervisor use blatantly false names, lie and hang up when I insist on speaking to a manager.

Only the bad ones need a police check. I do not have their number but it can be looked up. They do not charge for admin or so their information states. I received a missed call from +44 777172193, it was not a number I recognised. I called it back, it rang twice before cutting off to a long tone. I have blocked it!
