Said they were BT, I had too many people using my IP. The account name was wrong. They said they could block them from their server, but it would be better from my PC. After my challenges they sent a text message with a verification code. It said to change my password. I did. Had one previously, real BT support said it was a scam. Assumed this identical call was too. Only the false account name was a clue, otherwise how can you tell?

SCAM O2 scam. Don't give them any details. If you receive two text messages while they are on the call just delete them. Don't give them the number contained in the second message.

Pretending to be from Virgin Media Cyber security department, informing me that there is someone in California using my IP address for illegal purposes, but he would help me sort it out. Refused to tell me the name on the account or the account number because it was a recorded call, having told me it was a secure line and that he would "prove" to me that he was from Virgin if I gave him the information he asked for.

it;s the usual lowlife trying desperately trying to rob me of my pension pot. I'd like them to have a go at my bank, I'd get rid of my overdraft then! SCAM This caller has dialled my mobile telephone several times but never leaves an ID or message. Last call was a message of a drunk attacking an electronic guitar. Caller has a low forehead, low social skills, drags knuckles on the floor, exists on fruit and likely defecates on its floor. A stranger to soap and likely communicates with grunts.

an Indian man said that he works for HMRC civil appeal and that I have an ongoing case with the court, he then proceeded to ask for my name and postcode in order to find my file, so I gave him a fake made-up name & my current postcode, without even asking for my house number he said yes sir I found your file. he will try to play with your mind and ask you to go to their gov website and spell their phone number for him, then in someway he will merge a call and call you from the gov number to fool you
