The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. A Google search suggests that the number, if genuine, belongs to a company called The Best Connection Group Ltd, a chain of recruitment agencies.

I have been called no less than 4 times by this company trying to sell insurance or trying to make me pursue a claim for a car accident that never happened!

I've had a call from this number telling me it was BT calling about my broadband, I hung up on them & will report it.
