SCAM / SPAM An automated message, have called me and said it's from Hmrc and that I have a tax collection warrant, and I need to press one to talk about this/to be redirected to the right person and if I will not press 1at that moment, then i will shortly be arrested and other threats, I didn't listen, after "get arrested" I hang up. A recorded voice indicates an outstanding tax issue. Asking you to press 1 to be connected. Failure to do so will result in a warrant for your arrest (on the grounds of tax fraud) being issued. Her Majesty's Inspector of taxes would not phone if there was an issue. They would write to you. They know your address, but fraudsters and scammers like this do not. Do not press to accept the call. if you do they will know the number is in use an probably sell your number on to more scammers.
