HMRC SCAM call - now blocked.

Definitely a scam. BT, Openreach, TalkTalk, Virgin etc., will never call you about a technical issue unless you contact them.

Called me at 11:04 pm. When i returned the call it said you have been called from prank.com... when i searched online , it said its a number from police from camberly. Ruined my night.

This number rang my 84 year old mother and told her that her boiler warranty is about to run out (her boiler is very old and as far as she knows she s never had a warranty on it.) They persuaded her to sign up for a new warranty and she gave her bank card details. I m going to take her to the bank tomorrow to find out how much they took from her card. Same story. About a road accident I had but caller was from Liverpool and they used an 01462 area code. Trying to get me to claim for unnecessary whip lash etc, I suspect. Blocked.

They call leaving voicemails saying ‘this is not a marketing call, please call back’ I’ve also had texts asking to call back quoting the following reference number...which is different every time. And the name they use to address me via text spells both my first and last name wrong (not just one letter wrong, almost incoherently wrong!) so I will be blocking these obvious scammers!

Cold calling is not the way to sell windows or home improvements. Especially when you are a victim of a crime where you re trying to deal with police and a useless phone call from an aggressive cold calling company. I wish people would stop selling other peoples phone numbers.

Same time as yesterday I received an automated voice call asking me to press 1 to receive a SMS from 00000000000. This is definitely a scam and I have blocked the caller.
