Electronic music played loudly no-one spoke
This number rang my 84 year old mother and told her that her boiler warranty is about to run out (her boiler is very old and as far as she knows she s never had a warranty on it.) They persuaded her to sign up for a new warranty and she gave her bank card details. I m going to take her to the bank tomorrow to find out how much they took from her card. IT'S A DANGEROUS SCAM! A computer is dialling numbers in sequence to sniff out voice lines. If you speak then the line is detected as 'an active voice line' and logged as such, a scammer will then be calling you later! If you don't recognize the number calling DON'T SPEAK, JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear a voice and then the line goes dead then congratulations - you have just successfully escaped being scammed! THESE CALLS ARE HARASSING AND ALWAYS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!

SCAM Answered call, advised to press 1 or a warrant for my arrest would be issued. Said it was HMRC and there was a fraud investigation in my name. I advised before I provided personal details, could they advice the reason for the call as no letters had been issued. The caller terminated the call.

SCAM Rang at 7.20am this morning. Claiming to be from tps. Could hardly understand her, obviously in a call centre. When I questioned WHY she was waking us up at 7.20am she put the phone down.
