Scam call from criminal purporting to be from Microsoft

Received a call from VJ from HSBC in India. He insisted that we give out sensitive bank details before he could even talk to us. When refused, he gave an 0800 number for us to contact HSBC directly.

Had a call from this number and they knew my name but said I was working for someone else in the area I live. Concerned that they have my details.

The phone went dead when I answered it.

Threatening calll saying a HMRC fraud case was going to be filed against me if I didn't select an option, that the police would be coming to arrest me if I didn't then hung up. Clear hoax!

Used local school names in an attempt to make me believe we had helped them with our sponsorship of some internet safety programme, offered me a £20 discount if I paid up today, bringing it to just £129!! Bargain, I thought! Then I remembered that I am no mug and these con artists need shooting down. SCUM

Rang mobile, it rang twice and then cut-off before I had time to answer it.

Silent call, then high pitched beep/ping noise before cutoff. Others have noted this is a telemarketing number -we are plagued by these despite being registered on TPS. Yet another one to add to the Caller Bar list then.

Just left a comment. Didnt know why theyd rung but Winkworths have now emailed me to see if I want sell or rent.

Claimed to be Natasha from Link Group, I refused to transfer her call to a director, but she allowed me to take a message, which she tried to make sound genuine and urgent. Clearly not.

Received an uninvited call to my landline number, claiming to be conducting a health survey on behalf of the UK Government. The health questions didn t concern me but the depth of personal info requested did. I now regret giving so much info away (including name, address, age, no of adults and children), which I might not have done with an email survey. Genuine survey company doing government funded research. Got some numbers at the end to verify they are legit. If you re complaining about the state of the country but not willing to partake in research to help improve it then stop moaning!! TNS are a genuine company. The survey did not take very long- i don t see why people are getting so angry?
