Had 3 calls so far today, 1 in morning 2 afternoon, all hang up after I pick up, regardless of wait time. No one knows my landline either, so don’t know how it’s being called unless it’s malicious. Other numbers that called to same extent were 01330 560922 and 01689 814765, both equally as perplexing.
Called two days running, asking about utilities accounts. Beware, probably a scam.

A dangerous fraud / scam call pretending to be from the UK HMRC. Automated American woman's voice telling me legal proceedings are underway against me and I need to press 1 to speak to an officer. For many reasons, that's not how HMRC would operate.
SCAM Kept 'Morgan' on the line for 12mins while he told me he was from 'Carphone Warehouse Company' and offered an iPhone 13 for £35. He hung up when I asked what city he was in. Number called again a minute later, so I answered with "Hello, Dartford CID"; it hung up!

This number has rang me several times I think this the London company that called with man asking are you home owner or rental. Then he asked if flat had any dampness or other problems. There trying to get you to let them report the damage then you would get into trouble with council. They would be threatened with legal action. Next trick is no win no fee. Someone who sounded asian rather than Armenian called and asked me to go to her website. There was so much background noise (usual noisy room full of scammers) I was unable to hear what she was saying except she asked if I bought and sold stocks and shares which I do. I told her I had never heard of her and trusted no one who cold calls me to sell me something. She said she had not told me what she was selling. I suggested she sent me an email as she claimed she knew all my details and hung up.
