Apparently it is a company called ASCEND FINANCE. If you want to stop the calls you have to call a number in Manchester

Scam - they pretend to be from department of work and pensions and threatening legal action "your national insurance number has been used for fraud..." etc

Opening gambit "ringing about a car accident that you had that wasn t your fault - is that right".......Don t answer it, block the number, wish these people would just do one.

Male calls asking to speak with householder, hangs up when male voice replies. Possibly the stupidest female harrasser ever, as he displays his number!

This caller pretends to be from BT accounts department offering a refund on your account. When I challenged them and told them that the number is most definitely not BT accounts they hung up. Do not give them any information- hang up immediately

If you get a call you should answer or call back as the problem is that the initial database maker sells your number on to other junk call companies. If you have a call from them you should call the number back and ask for James, the call centre manager and demand where they got your number from. If you don t the problem of nuisance calls will get worse. You can then call the initial seller and ask to be removed from the main database. Pinpoint (Call Solutions) Ltd. This number rang today but hung up part way through the answerphone message. After reading comments here and elsewhere, I rang and asked for our number to be removed from their database. The guy I spoke to was happy to do this and also happy to tell me that the third party from whom they receive numbers is Communications Avenue. Looks like these are the people we should really be shutting down. A quick Googke shows that they re based in Newark.
