caller purports to be calling from microsoft and wants remote control of my computer saying i have been hacked for identity id and my details being used for illegal betting etc .rang microsoft who said this is a scam as they would not make such a call

This is RTA Business Consultants who are known crooks. They offer to sell your business but they have no interest in selling your business at all. Their real motive is to trick you into signing a barely legal contract that they know you will be forced to cancel or renege on and when you do they’ll send you a bill for £5000. My family had a missed call from this number. I called it back and a very confused man answered. He seemed genuine and said he had had some spam calls there himself. Seems to be a mystery.
