I believe I have received what I believe to be a scam call from this number stating payments have been taken form my bank for Amazon and Western Union press 1 for customer support. Any 'odd' payments would not be reported by my bank in this way

Fraud American accent, pre-recorded message saying it was HMRC and there was a problem with my tax record. Told me that in order to avoid jail I needed to sort this out immediately and had to press 1 to be put through to an advisor. Potentially very threatening for anyone who didn’t recognise it as a scam. Google search reveals that if I had pressed 1 my call might have been rerouted to a different country and I could have faced hefty phone charges.

SCAMScam. 'Christopher' from an 'accident claims line' regarding an accident on (correct date) that was 'not your fault'. This is around the 10th call in a month using same script from different numbers (all now blocked). Other numbers had reports describing similar calls, supposedly to settle claim for percentage of settlement. No mention of my insurance carrier. Sales call Tried to sell me life insurance which we don't need. Unwilling to take no for an answer but eventually the male caller hung up abruptly. Also not fully forthcoming as to where and how they obtained our contact details as this was considered a 'Cold Call'. AVOID !!
