If you get a call you should answer or call back as the problem is that the initial database maker sells your number on to other junk call companies. If you have a call from them you should call the number back and ask for James, the call centre manager and demand where they got your number from. I was out all day dealing with a crisis which meant I went 23 hours before I got to bed. I found this number had called me. Out of courtesy I rang back in the morning, as I had been expecting someone important to call and wondered whether it was the person I wanted it to be. All I got was a recorded message which started off by congratulating me because I had been specially selected and needed to press a button to find out what it was. Some financial services company waffling on about my PPI claim. I don't have a PPI claim. Level of English so poor I was unable to identify which company he was from.

Said they had my name on a database for being involved in an accident. I have not been in an accident but I don t like to think my name is on some database. I asked them to take my nae off the database.

What a delightful girl! Called up asking for a Director who isn t based in our office or who ever comes here. I asked what database she was using. I train sales people so know the job can be tricky at the best of times. I then politely and jovially said "Go on then, Who are you an what you trying to sell?" To which she replied "Perfect. I have received calls at my home land line number as well as my mobile . However I do not answer these types of call numbers . My real complaint is that I have a new number as my old number is now my business line , they do not ring that though just my new one and no one has been given that apart from family and close friends !!So how did they get it ?
