Automated voice stating they where calling from HMRC and that there was a fraudulent case against me and if I did not press 1 immediately then a warrant would be issued and I would be arrested. Firstly HMRC will never call you and secondly I am still waiting for the police to show up at my door and arrest me for nothing. Utter nonsense. Don't be fooled by these calls people.

Automat - Answered the call and it said that there is a message waiting for me and to press 1 to accept or 2 to reject. Pressed 1 and it said I have a test waiting for 1st October at 12:40 (the same time we have a Specsavers appointment? probably coincidence)

I think this is a scam number aiming to talk the vulnerable (ie people with debts) into giving out their bank details. I terminated the call as soon as they mentioned debts/creditors

just had a phone all from this number telling me that some money had just been paid from my visa account......I don't believe a word of it...I keep a very close eye on all payments in and out of my bank accounts. received the same message as the other people posting here, asking to call 0844 571 5190 and quote exactly the same reference number: 778660. Since we all know that this is a big scam designed to rip off unsuspecting people, I fail to see why the police cant shut these people down - or better still why they cant administer a ?500.00 fine to the number, which they would have to pay to their service provider.
