SCAM / SPAM It was an automated phone call saying it was HMRC that there was a warrant out for my arrest for tax evasion and I had to press 1 to talk to someone, otherwise I would be arrested immediately. Total scam, Google HMRC automated call and the top result is that it is a confirmed scam and you should end the call immediately.

Called by an Asian gent who eventually answered me (suspicious already) said he was a technician calling from some company or other (couldn t resolve company name) and said I had something wrong with my computer updates. Phonecall from local-ish number(Chesterfield) said it was Jenny from the Hearing Centre and that she understood I previously worked in a noisy environment. I said No and she promptly hung up - didn t get to ask whether she had the right person or where she got my number from. These people called concerning PPI. I was foolish enough to reply STOP and it charged my 50 pence. Clearly, this is a scam and these people must be stopped before they de-fraud more users.
