Scam line. Calls are made from outside of the UK (Gold Coast), trying to get recipients to visit a scam website. The caller gets the recipient to perform some tasks on their PC, claiming that it is infected. If you ask for their number, they provide this one. If you call them back you are diverted to the caller in the Gold Coast. Do not call. Do not respond. Report this to the police.

Two calls received within 24 hours from male with Indian/Asian accent and female with American accent. Both told me that they had information that showed that I had had a no fault accident within the last 2 years. Phoned twice. It was an automated message claiming to be my broadband provider stating that my broadband was about to disconnected. As the message did not state who my broadband provider was I hung up. I suspect this is a scam.

The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account.
