Received a call asking about my car accident - which of course I hadn t had. When I asked who told them I have been in an accident the weary sounding woman just said they would remove my details and rang off. Interesting that if you try to call them on this number it appears not to exist.

SCAM. Got a call from this number saying it was from hmrc and asked me to follow the instructions. If i hung up then i would be made to pay a penalty fine. I hung up straight away hoping for a penalty fine. Really intimidating.

The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. The caller gets the recipient to perform some tasks on their PC, claiming that it is infected. If you ask for their number, they provide this one. If you call them back you are diverted to the caller in the Gold Coast. Do not call. Do not respond. Report this to the police.

Someone with very poor grasp of english, call centre in the background. Said they were called Global Business Solutions, asking to speak to someone who hadn t lived at the address my phone number is listed at, for two years and who definitely doesn t need a debt reduction company as they have no debts that need reducing. Clearly using a very old cold-calling list that someone has sold them.
