Called twice today, 2nd time answered: asked for my partner by name & claimed to be from People's Energy who are our energy supplier and are based in Edinburgh so that matches the area code (0131). My partner wasn't happy to confirm security information for an unsolicited call though and they were happy to end the call requesting we call them. SCAM / SPAM This number rang on my mobile phone and after a few seconds delay a female voice with a northern English accent introduced herself by name and said she had information that I'd been involved in an accident that wasn't my fault and asked if this was true. I'm afraid I just shouted "GET LOST!" in response and hung up. Second at 12:24hrs, identical number, didn't leave a message. We seem to be getting more scam calls than calls of any meaning. Maybe we should discontinue the landline?

SCAM / SPAM Recorded message saying it's the HMRC that there is a fraud case in my name I have to press 1 now. Obviously I didn't I hung up and blocked the number guessing if you press 1 it will charge you ridiculous amounts of money or will try scam you into giving more details either way I wasn't willing to find out if you get a call from this number or a similar message from a different number just hang up and block.

Called me now at work and when I answered they hung up, this area code phones me a lot and as it is my home code I answer.
Have received the same message from these scumbags, from same number even though my mobile is registered with TPS. Have reported it to Vodafone VSPAM 87726 and they have logged it as a SPAM sender. That generally means I will not receive any more SPAM from that number (need to be a Vodafone customer to do this).
