This comes up as a Liverpool number .of is a company dealing with PPI. Very polite young man who was straight to the point regarding what the call was for. After asking a few questions, the usual ones about whether I d had any loans, credit cards, catalogues etc, he said he would get the system updated so that they didn t call again. Just about the most polite call I ve ever had regarding PPI!!

Fraud, SCAM, PHISHING 07440008657 claims to be from HMRC in an automated american accent. I pressed 1 to find out more and spoke to a human (with a fake American accent) who immediately asked for my name and postcode. They hung up when I politely said no.

Again one of those calls reporting that you have been involved in a car accident. I don t have a car... It seemed like a recorded message and caller hung up when I twice answered that I don t have a car.

Called twice today, 2nd time answered: asked for my partner by name & claimed to be from People's Energy who are our energy supplier and are based in Edinburgh so that matches the area code (0131). My partner wasn't happy to confirm security information for an unsolicited call though and they were happy to end the call requesting we call them. SCAM / SPAM Recorded message saying it's the HMRC that there is a fraud case in my name I have to press 1 now. Obviously I didn't I hung up and blocked the number guessing if you press 1 it will charge you ridiculous amounts of money or will try scam you into giving more details either way I wasn't willing to find out if you get a call from this number or a similar message from a different number just hang up and block.

Automated message saying I was being investigated for tax evasion! and that a warrant had been issued for my arrest by Hmrc. Considering I am a basic paye tax payer, it was clearly a scam. Number blocked.

they say it's from a security center and claim that two large p[ayments have been deducted from my card - and to press 1, if made by me and 2 if not
Scam. They pretend they are from EIST research centre that belong to the university of Liverpool. They asked for home address, phone numbers, emails and bank details. I gave them all wrong information. I phoned the university of Liverpool and they confirmed the number listed above is not their phone numbers.
The person knew my name and address BUT the wrong postcode - it was way off! As I said it was the wrong postcode they asked me for mine which I refused to give and told them as they had the wrong information I was not the person they needed.

I got a call from this number asking me to ring them back or a warrant would be issued in my name and I would be arrested shortly. I ignored it as I know I had not committed any offence and recognise its a scam but imagine if it happens to a vulnerable person who suffers from anxiety. They could get sick from worry even though they have not done anything wrong.
