The exact number was 01340 831714. After searching it here, I called the number back. It has a BT call screener on it. A Scottish sounding older lady picked up the phone. I told her my name and said I'd had a missed call from her number at 7:47am this morning (3-3-23). Her reply? "No, not me, no you haven't" and then she put the phone down. Asked me to WhatsApp them and this was their new number, for a new phone as the old number was for the old damaged phone. It just struck me as odd so ignored and then blocked the number. I believe it was an attempt to get me to engage and was a scam.

Call from Amazon. Told to go online and check emails because somebody was taking £700 from my account. I said no and rang off. Called again wanting to know why I rang off and to get on the computer. I said no again but wouldn't take no for an answer I asked why not using Amazon number it was because it was a security number. Told unless I did as asked, payment would go ahead. I said OK go ahead.Told to be sure as call recorded. 'Good I replied, then you are also recorded. They rang off.

Utilities Said they were from Virgin media, Indian Accent, knew my name. Said they wanted to make sure is was getting the best service then asked for first line of address and post code, which i didn't give. My view is that if I felt I wasn't getting a good service then I would contact them. All in all an unwanted call.

This is a scam. they try to get you to invest. they never give up and will use different numbers all over England. Each person who calls you is of Indian origins. Not possible in England not to have one person who is not and indian. Especially with Englands diversity. Just dont answer or hang up and block the number.

Appeared plausible and had some detailed info on my account transactions, however, when calling the number on back of my card, they said they had no record of a call from RBS.
