If you get a call you should answer or call back as the problem is that the initial database maker sells your number on to other junk call companies. If you have a call from them you should call the number back and ask for James, the call centre manager and demand where they got your number from. Claim to be from Carphone warehouse with deal on phone contract, line was poor and when asked for second name there was a pause and he lost his temper and hung up. Most probably a scam.

Asked to speak to me, told me they where not selling but their database has shown o have had a accident in the last 2 years

Received call from this number claiming to be "The Preservation Advisory Service", saying that an article in the Telegraph had highlighted how additional home insulation could reduce air quality and that they offered a free air quality measurement service. When I asked which company he worked for, he said his manager would tell me after I had arranged a visit from them. I pushed for this and he hung up.

I have had two calls from this number did not answer but checked bank accounts anyway. These calls should be stopped.
SCAM: 2nd identical call today, but from a 'different' number. Automated female voice saying it was my ‘internet provider’, and I had missed a call from them. (It’s not, and I haven’t because I’m here all the time!) Apparently there’s been some ‘illegal activity’ on my account, and my internet will be disconnected within 24-48 hours. Press 1 to speak to a technician. Utter Tosh.
