"This is Royal Mail. Your package has been delivered twice and there was no answer. Please press 9 for more information." Followed by a message in Chinese. Pressed 9. Connected to a person speaking Chinese. No idea what this is, so disconnected. It's obviously not the Royal Mail.

I was called by this number 09:34 on 03 July 2023. It was an autodialer with an American accent telling me I had returned an HMRC envelope and now further action would be taken if..... This was an automated call advising I had suspected fraud on my accounts. Gave 2 transactions and was asked to press 1 to accept 2 to decline. I put the phone down and called the bank. It wasn’t them! Please just put the phone down on this number and don’t press any buttons

A dangerous fraud / scam call pretending to be from the UK HMRC. Automated American woman's voice telling me legal proceedings are underway against me and I need to press 1 to speak to an officer. For many reasons, that's not how HMRC would operate.
