28 Dec 2021 - Claimed to be offering some phone deal (hard to tell exactly what, through thick Indian accent). I repeatedly challenged him on not having checked my number against Telephone Preference Service "do not call" list, and eventually he apologised and hung up. Reply

I find it very irritating when I haven't given my number out I had 2 calls today & do not wish to have any more.

This number rang my 84 year old mother and told her that her boiler warranty is about to run out (her boiler is very old and as far as she knows she s never had a warranty on it.) They persuaded her to sign up for a new warranty and she gave her bank card details. I m going to take her to the bank tomorrow to find out how much they took from her card. She has never been sent any warranty paperwork by them. Seems like a scam, almost certainly illegal. Once we know how much they ve withdrawn from her a/c

I m so glad i Googled the number while talking to this lovely lady, yes all fair and well it might a great deal and for a worthy cause but I m already giving to my own choice of charity so was not prepared to risk 79.99 being taken from my account should i miss the cut off point or they take it earlier than stated. after finding this no on telephone bill i knew i had not made this call. after re3ading pages and pages of york dialling code numbers with variations it is obvious these are scammers. what can be done about it
