Hi, just had a call from an Asian bloke who said my Internet connection had wires crossed in my house and its causing a network problem. He claimed to be BT. I didn't tell him that BT don't run the network it's Open Reach. Also didn't tell him I'm not a BT customer. I ended the call.

On examination, the very nice lady called Jenny said she was calling from South East Asia. What appeared to be recorded message told me that they were speaking from Visa and my card had been used to place an £800 bet in the USA, if this wasn't me press a button on the phone. I was texted out of the blue with this message: "Hi mum, I'm texting you from a friend's phone because mine got broken. Their phone is running out of battery. text/call me on my new number +447359548195". I believe it's a scam as no one I knew messaged me this.
